Exciting news for Daredevil fans, as it was announced that Jon Bernthal (Walking Dead, Wolf of Wall Street) has been cast as Frank Castle, The Punisher, for season two of Marvel’s hit Netflix show.

For those of you that haven’t binged watched the first season, here is a little crash course:

“Blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) fights against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the Super Hero “Daredevil” in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.”

The Punisher (Bernthal) will serve as a vigilante who is hell-bent on cleaning  up Hell’s Kitchen, no matter how “lethal the results” according to Marvel.com.

In response to this announcement Jeph Loeb, Head of Television at Marvel explains, “Jon Bernthal brings an unmatched intensity to every role he takes on, with a potent blend of power, motivation and vulnerability that will connect with audiences. Castle’s appearance will bring dramatic changes to the world of Matt Murdock and nothing will be the same.”

We’ll have to patiently wait for season two until an unknown time in 2016. Personally, I think Bernthal is the perfect choice to tackle the role of Frank Castle, especially after his domineering presence as Shane on season one of The Walking Dead. What are your thoughts on this casting choice?
