There was little doubt that Elektra would be involved in the hit tv show, Marvel’s Daredevil, at some point in its hopefully long run. But the real mystery lay behind when the character would arrive and who would be playing her. Well, both questions have been answered in one fellow swoop…

Elektra will be making her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the upcoming second season of the hit Netflix series. Marvel has also just announced that the iconic assassin will be played by Elodie Yung!

Marvel has described the iconic character as “a mysterious woman from Matt Murdock’s past whose dangerous and exotic ways may be more than he can handle.”

“After a worldwide search, we found in Elodie the perfect actress to embody both Elektra’s impressive and deadly physicality, as well as her psychological complexity,” says Jeph Loeb, executive producer of the show. “Paired with Charlie as Matt Murdock, the two will bring one of the most beloved and tumultuous comic book relationships to life with all the accompanying sparks and spectacular action sequences the show is known for.”

Elodie Yung will be joining Jon Bernthal as The Punisher in what is unarguably one of the most anticipated season 2 installments in Netflix history. Be on the lookout for season 2 to premiere in 2016!
