Multi-platinum musician Tom DeLonge and New York Times Bestselling author Suzanne Young signed books for a sold-out crowd at the Barnes and Noble at The Grove in Los Angeles on October 6. This marked the release day of Poet Anderson …Of Nightmares, the first installment of a planned trilogy between the two.
The night started off with an impromptu discussion and Q&A session initiated by DeLonge where he described the main message behind the Poet Anderson franchise:
“It’s about labeling yourself as a dreamer, and labeling yourself as somebody who has extraordinary vision and the capability to make your life experience what you want it to be.”
DeLonge praised Young for taking his grandiose ideas and writing them in an accessible and relatable way. She is best known for her bestselling The Program series that explores dark topics coupled with gripping romance. The Poet Anderson collaboration gave her the opportunity to explore more of these ideas, but this time in relation to dreams and with a lot more action (and glowing motorcycles). In the novel, the dream world is riddled with hellish creatures who wish to wreak havoc on the dream world and waking world alike. Death, destruction, and the treacherous waters of high school romance are all explored beautifully by Young in a way that will captivate a wide demographic of audiences.
DeLonge is of course best known for his musical endeavors in blink-182 and Angels & Airwaves, but he’s looking to expand his horizons. His newly launched trans-media company To The Stars is providing him with the opportunity to explore his grandest dreams and deepest passions. Poet Anderson is the first of many multimedia franchises that are currently in development.
You can explore the dream world for yourself by picking up a copy of the novel at one of these many outlets. If you want to explore what DeLonge has done with Poet over the years in a variety of different contexts, the enhanced eBook gives you the opportunity to explore the multimedia universe of the lucid dreamer all in one place.
