Alleged alien abductee Kirsan Ilyumzhinov has temporarily stepped down from his role as president of FIDE (the world chess federation) amid accusations that he is supporting the Syria regime of President Bashar al-Assad.
The United States imposed sanctions against Ilyumzhinov last month and froze his assets for his suspected ties to Bashar al-Assad’s regime. But Ilyumzhinov denies the allegations and is fighting to get his name removed from the U.S. Treasury Sanctions List.
On Sunday, December 6, FIDE Executive Director Nigel Freeman issued a statement addressing the situation:
Following the announcement by the US Department of the Treasury that the US levied sanctions against Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, Russian citizen and FIDE President, Mr Ilyumzhinov has informed the Presidential Board that he will withdraw from any legal, financial and business operations of FIDE until such time as Mr Ilyumzhinov is removed from the Office of Foreign Assets Control sanction list.
Ilyumzhinov isn’t concerned about the move by the U.S. Department of Treasury. In an appearance on news channel Russia-24, he commented, “The fact that they’ve put me on the list – we’ll look into that. I’ll go to the Treasury and ask what complaints they have about me, what questions. There are no connections. I was in Syria two years ago, officially. We held a children’s tournament there and I met with the country’s leadership. There are no commercial relationships or economic ties.”
This former president of the Russian republic of Kalmykia and twenty-year president of the World Chess Federation not only believes in the existence of intelligent extraterrestrials; In 2010, he publicly claimed to have met with extraterrestrials in Moscow in 1997, where he communicated with them, was shown around their spaceship, and was even taken into space. Ilyumzhinov says he’s been taken by extraterrestrials on multiple occasions, and he has spoken publicly about it for more than a decade.
He also believes that humans are a product of extraterrestrial intervention. And, he asserts that chess was given to humans by these extraterrestrials.
