Dave Grohl is a ‘UFO fanatic’

August 21, 2015 Jason McClellan

It’s no secret that Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl is a UFO enthusiast. He’s mentioned in countless interviews how he’s always been fascinated with the mystery of unidentified flying objects. He named his band after a term used by World War II pilots to describe UFOs. And his record label is Roswell Records.

Yeah, he digs UFOs.

He spoke about UFOs again in a recent Billboard interview.

The Foo Fighters’ 8-part HBO musical travelogue, Sonic Highways, received four Emmy nods recently. In the interview, Billboard contributor Melinda Newman says, “In outstanding informational series or special, you’re up against Neil deGrasse Tyson, James Lipton and Anthony Bourdain. How do you get your head around that?”

“I’m fans of all of those people,” Grohl replies. He continues, “Neil is my hero. In another life, I hope that I was an astrophysicist.” He also says he spends most of his time online in the science section of Google news. Then he admits, “It’s what I do all day long. I’m a UFO fanatic.”
