Roswell: Mysteries Decoded set to air on CW

January 10, 2019 Maureen Elsberry

The year 2019 is starting off with a UFOlogical bang. It’s not even mid-January and yet an onslaught of UFO-related programming, in both the non-fiction and fiction genres, are slated to hit our screens.

Early this week, History Channel’s new drama, Project Blue Book premiered to massive ratings and positive reviews. Now, we’re getting a new look at the infamous Roswell UFO case of 1947 in Roswell: Mysteries Decoded. The show follows investigator Jennifer Marshall and Rogue Planet’s own Ryan Sprague as they head to Roswell and dive deep into the mysteries of one of the most famous alleged crashes of all time.

The CW explains,

This all-new special takes an extensive look into an active cold case investigation involving an unexplained crash in Roswell, New Mexico in the summer of 1947.  Led by investigator Jennifer Marshall and Ufologist Ryan Sprague, the duo will attempt to uncover new evidence that could reveal one of the greatest government cover-ups of the 20th century.  Executive producers are Gary Tarpinian and Paninee Theeranuntawat.

Sprague seems to hint that the show uncovered something new, “Investigating Roswell this in depth has always been a ufological dream of mine. We had resources and access to things I never could have imagined, and I’m so excited to share our findings with the public very soon. It’s Roswell like you’ve never seen before. New testimonies. New evidence. And new questions being asked.”

Roswell: Mysteries Decoded is produced by Gary Tarpinian and Paninee Theeranuntawat and airs January 10th on The CW at 9/8C and will be available for free on their streaming platform, CW Seed on January 11th.

This special, which is serving as a pilot for a potential series, is running just prior to the premiere of the newly rebooted Roswell TV series on Tuesday, January 15th.  But, make sure to watch the special prior to the fictional teen drama so you don’t accidentally assume that alien teenagers are romancing waitresses in downtown Roswell, New Mexico.
