Seek out libations aboard the Star Trek cruise

August 24, 2015 Jason McClellan

Get your intergalactic cruise wear ready because a Star Trek cruise is happening.

Entertainment Cruise Production LLC. is producing the first-ever official Star Trek cruise. And, although it’s not happening until 2017, the initial details already sound amazing.

Captain Kirk himself (William Shatner) will be the host of this maiden voyage. And he’ll be joined by Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, Denise Crosby, John de Lancie, Robert Picardo, James Darren, Vaughn Armstrong, Steve Rankin, and Casey Biggs.

“I am excited to be the host of Star Trek: The Cruise,” says Shatner. He continues, “When I was told that this was the first authorized Star Trek cruise and part of the 50th anniversary celebration, I just knew that my participation would be something that our fans would enjoy. It should be a lot of fun.”

The Star Trek actors will do more than just appear for this floating event. They will all reportedly perform as well. According to the press release, “Shatner will headline ‘An Evening with William Shatner,’ Marina Sirtis and Jonathan Frakes teaming up for Love Letters, and Denise Crosby tap dancing and hosting wine tastings. Other planned activities include concerts by James Darren and the Enterprise Blues Band, and Robert Picardo playing Star Trek Family Feud and hosting both a cocktail party and a private dinner.”

More guests will be announced during the coming months.

The ship itself will get a Star Trek makeover. Iconic locations from Star Trek series and movies will be recreated on the ship. Of course, this include Quark’s Bar. A large LED screen on the back deck will show Star Trek movies and episodes every evening. And the ship’s crew will wear Star Trek uniforms.

Star Trek fans will completely take over the ship for this Star Trek cruise. The 2,200 passengers on this cruise will all be Star Trek fans.

Prices start at $995 per person, and include meals (but not drinks, because cruises suck like that), tickets to all major events, parties, activities, and 24-hour-room service.

Star Trek: The Cruise is a seven-day cruise that sets sail on January 9, 2017. The cruise departs from Miami, Florida, and ports of call are Cozumel (Mexico), Nassau (Bahamas), and Great Stirrup Cay (Bahamas).
