Tom DeLonge Announces To The Stars Academy of Arts and Science

On Wednesday, October 11, transmedia company To The Stars hosted a live streamed event during which founder Tom DeLonge announced the company’s latest endeavor–To The Stars Academy of Arts and Science.

The announcement had been teased a good eight months prior. But various events beyond DeLonge’s control caused the extended delay. DeLonge chose author and journalist Leslie Kean to be the source of the initial introduction to To The Stars Academy. In an October 10 Huffington Post article, Kean stated, “Former high-level officials and scientists with deep black experience who have always remained in the shadows are now stepping into the light.” She continued, “These insiders have long-standing connections to government agencies which may have programs investigating unidentifed aerial phenomena (UAP). They intend to move into the private sector and to make all declassified information, and any future knowledge, available for all to see.”

These high-level officials and scientists were introduced by DeLonge during the live stream on October 11. They include: Jim Semivan, former senior intelligence service member of the Central Intelligence Agency; Dr. Harold E. Puthoff, a theoretical physicist who created the CIA’s psychic spy program; Steve Justice, former Director of Advanced Systems at Lockheed Skunk Works; Luis Elizondo, former senior intelligence officer in the Office of the Secretary of Defense; Christopher Mellon, former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence in the Clinton and Bush Administrations.

DeLonge introduced To The Stars Academy, stating, “I’ve worked for two years to construct a mechanism that I feel was missing. One that can take the biggest secret–the most controversial secret on earth, and surround it with three groundbreaking strategies that will innovate, educate, and, hopefully, wildly entertain at the same time.” He continued, “Our institution looks to build a perpetual funding machine that can continuously attack those three things: aerospace, science, and entertainment. Again, some important stories to tell, a need to learn more, and a plan to engineer the technology observed.”

“To The Stars Academy of Arts and Science aims to communicate historic events and forward-thinking ideas through a motion picture, and include you on ongoing important scientific discovery, and build an exotic craft with an energy source that can revolutionize the world,” DeLonge explained.

The mission statement of this new endeavor states:

To The Stars Academy strives to be a powerful vehicle for change by creating a consortium among science, aerospace and entertainment that will work collectively to allow gifted researchers the freedom to explore exotic science and technologies with the infrastructure and resources to rapidly transition them to products that can change the world.

The Academy is taking a modified crowdfunding approach to finance its mission. Rather than seeking traditional donations, To The Stars Academy of Arts and Science was set up as a Regulation A+ Public Benefits Corporation. So, people who choose to give money to the Academy are investing, not donating.

In what we believe is the first transparent partnership of its kind, the company will collaborate with global citizens to investigate under-funded areas of research that could lead to awe-inspiring discoveries and innovations. We believe transformative research of the type we propose should not be considered too taboo for serious academic research and we advocate that the search and investigation of new discoveries should be made broadly available to the public using the lens of entertainment media. Our goal is to inspire the imagination in the scientific mysteries of the universe and their profound implications on human potential and the future of our planet.
