SETI’s Seth Shostak discusses that recent ‘alien’ signal

On Wednesday, August 31, SETI Institute Senior Astronomer Dr. Seth Shostak posted a video to briefly discuss the mysterious signal detected by Russian scientists back in 2015.

News about this signal exploded in the media during the last week of August, leading many to speculate about possible alien communication.

In the video above, Shostak explains that the SETI Institute wasn’t able to detect the signal during its recent scans. He also points out that the Russian Academy of Sciences asserts the signal was determined to originate from a Soviet military satellite.
